Our New event: Rope Connection Lab at Shibari Center

Rope Connection Lab
Rope Connection Lab, Ludvig and frostslavee

Rope Connection Lab – Saturday, February 1st, 15:00 – 19:00

We are excited to introduce the Rope Connection Lab, the next step in our Shibari teaching system! This event is the third stage of your Shibari journey, designed to help you transition from practicing techniques to creating meaningful, emotional connections through ropes.

Our Three-Stage Teaching System:

  • Stage 1: Shibari Courses – Structured learning focused on acquiring fundamental skills and techniques.
  • Stage 2: Supervised Practice – Practicing with guidance to refine your skills and build confidence.
  • Stage 3: Rope Connection Lab – A dedicated space to explore the real purpose of Shibari: connecting with your partner through emotions, creativity, and flow.

In this lab, we leave behind the focus on technical perfection and instead embrace the emotional and intuitive side of Shibari. It’s time to shift gears and apply what you’ve learned to create deeper connections with your partner.

What to Expect at Rope Connection Lab:

A cozy, relaxed environment: Our studio is a safe and non-distractive space where you can explore freely.

Connection over complexity: The focus is on emotions and flow rather than advanced techniques or complex suspensions. Most of the practice will take place on the floor, with occasional partial suspensions.

Exploration of feelings: You’ll practice tying intuitively, allowing the ropes to become a medium for communication and connection.

Dress Code at Rope Connection Lab:

For this event, we encourage you to experiment with attire that enhances the sense of intimacy and connection. While sportswear (like yoga pants and t-shirts) is always welcome, you’re invited to explore more personal options such as:

  • Bedroom-style outfits, lingerie, or underwear.
  • Partial nudity is allowed but within limits.

Please note:

  • No sexual penetration is permitted.
  • No BDSM play (e.g., flogging, spanking, or roleplay) will take place during this event.

What This Event is NOT:

  • Not a course: There will be no teaching or instruction. If you’re new to Shibari, we recommend completing our courses and supervised practice sessions first.
  • Not a play party: This is not a BDSM or fetish event.
  • Not a socializing event: While mutual respect and communication are essential, this is a space for quiet focus. Please minimize conversations to avoid distractions and fully immerse yourself in the connection.

The Goal of Rope Connection Lab:

This is a unique opportunity to explore and refine your ability to connect with another human being through ropes. Even if you don’t achieve a perfect connection, the act of trying and experimenting will bring valuable insights into your practice.

Join us at the Rope Connection Lab to discover new depths of connection and meaning in your Shibari journey!

FAQs about Rope Connection Lab

I don’t have a partner. Can I attend?

This event is best suited for participants who already have a partner. If you don’t have a partner, we recommend the following options:

Find someone you’d like to tie with and invite them to attend with you. This event is a great opportunity to share your first session together in a safe and focused environment.

If you’re unable to find a partner, please send us a message before the event. If another participant is also looking for a partner, we may be able to help arrange a pairing.

Please note: This event is not designed as a space to meet new partners on-site, so it’s important to make arrangements in advance to ensure you can fully participate.

I learned Shibari at another place or course. Can I attend Rope Connection Lab?

Yes! While this event is designed with our students in mind, anyone with basic Shibari skills is welcome to join, as long as you:

Know how to tie and are comfortable applying your skills.

Have a partner to work with during the event.

I don’t have ropes. Can you provide them?

We have a limited number of ropes available to share. Each couple may borrow one rope, but we strongly recommend bringing your own set of ropes, especially if you plan to use more than one.

Is there a dress code at Rope Connection Lab?

Yes. For this event, we encourage participants to move beyond casual sportswear and explore attire that enhances intimacy and connection. This could include:

  • Bedroom-style outfits, lingerie, or underwear.
  • Partial nudity is allowed within limits.

However, please remember this is not a BDSM or play party. The focus is on connection through ropes in a respectful and safe environment.

I’m not confident in my Shibari skills. Should I wait?

If you feel unsure about your skills, we recommend attending our supervised practice sessions first to build confidence. The Rope Connection Lab is focused on applying what you already know in an emotional, flowing, and intuitive way.

Can I socialize or talk during the event?

This event is not a social gathering. While some communication with your partner is natural and encouraged, we ask everyone to minimize conversations to maintain focus on the connection.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you’re unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible.

What is the capacity of the venue?

The studio can host a maximum of 5 to 6 couples, ensuring a cozy and focused environment for all participants. Since space is limited, reserving your spot in advance is mandatory.

Do I need to sign up, or can I just drop by?

You must sign up by sending us a message confirming your attendance. We need to know:

  • Whether you’re attending as a couple or single.
  • If you have your own ropes (if not, we’ll do our best to accommodate).
  • Your experience level, especially if we haven’t met you before.

When is the Rope Connection Lab happening?

The first Rope Connection Lab will take place on Saturday, February 1st, 2025. Don’t miss the opportunity to join this exciting new experience!
